Kelley Barnett Interior Design, LLC, a Texas limited liability corporation, is led by Kelley Barnett, NCIDQ. after earning an interior design degree from the University of Texas at Austin, Kelley practiced interior design in Austin, Houston, and Sanantonio, as well as clients vacation homes across the USA and a client's personal residence in the country of Panama. While a degree in design is not required, Kelley desired to be even more qualified by passing the difficult NCIDQ examination (National Council for Interior Design Qualifications), and takes at least a dozen CEUs annually. Taking full advantage of leadership roles, Kelley faithfully served 6 years in ASID (American Society of Interior Designers), most recently as Texas Chapter president. She now serves as VP Government Relations for NKBA (National Kitchen and Bath Associations) South Plains Chapter. Her body of work includes a Show House which benefited the local Wounded Warriors program, and a complete home renovation for a family of 6 whose son was suddenly paralyzed as a result of a road rage crime.
Her combined academic and leadership experiences enable Kelley to approach interior design methodically and creatively. She is strategic about the process and budget, from the initial client consultation through completed installation. Her approach is organized, detailed, deliberate, AND enjoyable. "Form follows function" is her guiding principle, which simply means that interior design must first be functional, and then, aesthetically pleasing. With 28 years’ experience, Kelley offers her clients the very best fabricators, artisans, craftsmen, ans resources from all over the world, while still supporting local and state businesses.
